Music Portal with Gamification for upcoming Artists

Designed and Implemented an online portal using wordpress for music lovers to listen to and download sample music. Musicians can then upload their remixed tracks and enter it for a weekly contest. The application implements gamification features to increase user activity on the site; including voting for a track and enables users to win different badges and ribbons based on their ratings and activity. The application also allows for sharing a track on social media sites and users can add musician/composer or producer to favorites so that they can quickly access their content. We implemented a custom mp3 player and integrated SoundManager2. We also implemented heavy ajax functionality to allow the player to continue playing the selected track without being interrupted due to page refresh. We also integrated login with facebook and twitter. Among other features the admin can create and view contents and votes. Users/Musicians can upload and download content to be voted on and users can vote. Used SVN for version control and basecamp for the PM system
